When is the race?

Marathon and Half Marathon have the same start and finish.
Where is the start?
The race starts on Ashworth Street, near C and D Street about a block inland from Ocean Boulevard and the Sea Shell.
When and where can I pick up my registration packet?
You can pick up your packet on both Saturday & Sunday before the race at the big white tent - new location to be announced.
Saturday Pickup 1:00pm - 4:00 pm
Sunday Pickup 7:00am - 8:50 am
Do I need to bring a photo ID to register?
YES, You MUST HAVE A photo id ready to present to the registration person. We will be checking photo id's for everyone in the marathon and spot checking in the half marathon.
Can I run or walk with a baby stroller?
No, for safety reasons, strollers are not allowed on the course.
Can I switch from the full marathon to the half marathon?
Yes, if you need to switch, that is not a problem but please contact us TWO WEEKS before the race so we can make sure you are accurately recorded. (there are no refunds for switching to the half) Before the race email linda@locorunning.com.
Can I run with headphones or earbuds?
So that you can hear traffic, and race marshals and for safety reasons, we strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course.
Can I run with my dog?
No, sorry for safety reason dogs are not allowed on the course.
Can I get a refund if I register but don't run?
Sorry, once you have registered, there are no refunds or transfers*.
(*You may transfer your registration down from the Marathon to the Half Marathon. You cannot transfer up from the half to the full marathon)
Can I reserve a shirt in a certain size? (Half Marathon)
When you check the box next to a t-shirt size on your registration form, you're not reserving a shirt, you're helping us work out how many shirts we need to order in each size. If it's really important that you get a shirt in your size, please come early to avoid disappointment. You can read a more detailed explanation of our shirt policy here.
HALF MARATHONERS:
All registered half marathorers will receive at number pickup a technical wicking commemorative shirt..
MARATHONERS:
All registered marathoners will receive a commemorative XXXX (OK we have not decided between a cool Jacket or a Hooded Sweatshirt)- (Marathoners do not receive a shirt)
All registered marathorers will receive at number pickup a very cool commemorative piece of apparel The size you receive will be the one you listed on your registration. Sizes are XS, Small, Med, Large and XL.
Will I receive a finisher's medal?
Of course! All officially registered Marathon & Half Marathon finishers will receive a custom medal to mark their achievement. We can only give medals to those with numbers, so make sure to pin your number on securely!
Are walkers allowed?
Yes! Walkers are very welcome to the half marathon and if fast enough in the full marathon. All we ask is that you obey the rules of the course and walk no more than two people abreast so that others may pass easily. Walkers will start with the runner start. Note the course cutoff time is 6 hours for the full marathon which is about 13:44 per mile.
Is there an age limit for the full marathon?
Yes. For the full marathon, applicants must be 16 years or older on race day. We will not accept registrations from applicants younger than 16.
What distance is this race?
This is a half-marathon - 13.1 miles and marathon course, so it is 26.2 miles long. A good section of the course runs along the Atlantic Ocean beside a picture perfect sandy beach and passes through rural parts of Hampton and North Hampton. The course will be certified, accurate and well marked. The Marathon is 26.2 miles and is essentially a double loop. the second loop is 8 miles of the first loop with a new 5 miles in the town of Hampton. Is there a time limit for the race?
Due to traffic and volunteer considerations, please do NOT attempt the full marathon unless you can finish in under 6 hours. Traffic marshalls and race signs will be on the course for this long as well as aid stations.
Where are the aid stops?
There will be four water stops for the half marathon and one energy gel stop. For the Marathon They will be 11 aid stations total serving either water, or water and orange Gatorade - or just Energy Gel (2011 Vanila Hammer Gel)
Eleven Water Stops: Mile 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13.5 16.2, 18.2, 20.2, 22.2, 24.2
Water - All Stops, (Gatorade: every other stop)
Energy Gel: (Hammer Gel) Mile 6.8 and 20.3
What is at the Aid Stations: Half Marathon: Water is at every aid station. every other aid stop will have orange Gatorade, Vanilla Hammer Gel is at mile 6.8 and 20.3
The Marathon will have four Gatorade Stops and two stops with Vanilla Hammer Gel.
Will there be changing facilities before the race?
No there are no changing facilities available. Please show up ready to run.
Will there be restroom facilities?
Portapotties are at mile 5 and 11, mile 18 and 22 - Bathroom facilities will be located near the aid stops at the North Hampton State Park Beach bathrooms and North Hampton Beach
